Well-known Bollywood actor Vijay Raaz, who has appeared in more than 90 films, visited the revered Shri Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga on Thursday. Immersed in devotion, he bowed before Baba Mahakal from the Nandi Hall and was seen chanting “Om Namah Shivay.” On behalf of the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee, Assistant Administrator Ashish Falwadia welcomed and honored him.
Devotees were delighted to see the actor among them. Many clicked selfies, while others took his autograph, expressing their excitement at meeting an artist known for both his comic and serious performances.
Vijay Raaz, an acclaimed actor and director in Hindi cinema, began his film journey with Bhopal Express (1999). His role as Dubey Ji in Monsoon Wedding (2001) earned wide appreciation, after which he became popular for his memorable comic characters in films like Run, Dhamaal, and Delhi Belly. His early break came with Ram Gopal Varma’s Jungle, followed by notable appearances in Mahesh Bhatt’s Bhopal Express and Monsoon Wedding. He also received several nominations for his exceptional comic timing.
Raaz’s first lead role was in Raghu Romeo, where his nuanced performance won praise from both critics and audiences. Over the years, he has built a strong reputation as an actor capable of effortlessly shifting between humor and serious roles—qualities that continue to endear him to viewers.
